Following the success of January’s LocalED 2025 conference, the LocalED 2025 – Post-conference report is now accessible online.
Sharing details of the day – which focused on the question ‘Locality Working, why it is important and what it takes’ – the report contains links to nine pilot presentations, as well as to Professor Toby Greany and Dr Susan Cousin’s independent Forging Local Coherence evaluation, which was published by the University of Nottingham.
LocalED project leader, Jonathan Crossley-Holland said: “We were delighted to see very positive responses reflected in the post-conference survey by attendees, as well as in wider comments from the sector.”
John Edwards, Director-General of the Regions Group at the Department for Education, also took part in the conference with a keynote address that shared his commitment to working in partnership with LAs, combined authorities and other local partnerships.
Recommendations shared in the new report include a response to the challenge laid down by John Edwards for localities to ‘lean in’ and take up the role that only they can.
