The AEC – Association of Education Committees Trust – retains ultimate responsibility for the oversight of this project and its pilots. It is assisted in this by the Steering Group whose role is to provide advice to the Project Team and support the dissemination of learning from the project.
The Steering Group membership comprises lead representatives from:

- The Local Government Association (LGA)
- The National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT)

The AEC Trust Chair will sit on the Steering Group, and be the point of liaison with the Project Leader, Jonathan Crossley-Holland. The group will meet six times over the timespan of the pilots.
The Project Leader is responsible for ensuring that the AEC Trust Board and the Steering Group are fully informed of the progress of the pilots, and any issues that arise. He will in turn be supported by a Project Team comprising the Isos Partnership, Christine Gilbert CBE (Adviser), the communications team, and leaders of the pilots.
