We are delighted to announce that our three ground-breaking LocalEd pilot initiatives have launched today (16.05.22) with nine school-led partnerships and local authorities taking part to test new models of locality-based governance and partnership.
As we shared back in March, we were delighted to receive such a positive response to the LocalEd bid process with 12% of the country’s local authorities and school-led partnerships applying to take part. Our team reviewed the applications and used comprehensive selection criteria to select the successful applicants.
Pilot leads have started coming together in workshops with energy and passion to lay the foundations for the two-year project. The first workshop for Pilot 1 leads was held on 28th April and on the 29th April for Pilot 3 leads.
Supported by funding from the Association of Education Committees (AEC Trust), you can read more about the three pilots here in our new blog posts:
- Find out more about Pilot 1 and how we are working to develop ways to improve support for vulnerable pupils in individual schools and academy trusts
- Read about Pilot 2 and our work to explore using combined authorities as the basis for supporting school improvement
- And last but not least, learn more about Pilot 3 and our plan to test a rigorous but less high stakes approach to accountability.
